BRGR is a burger journal: one exact burger, at one address, scored in four layers. It is an iPhone app, published under the name BRGR: Burger Ratings, and every burger it lists is in New York. For anything this page does not answer, write to dor@urbero.com — that address reaches the person who builds it.

Why do most burgers have no score?

The restaurants, addresses and menu items are real New York places, and every score you see comes from someone who ate that burger. Most burgers have no score yet: a Bite Score appears only once two people have ranked that exact burger publicly, because one person’s four answers are a judgement, not a verdict. Until then the burger’s own page in the app says so, and shows how many people have rated it. Your own score is yours the moment you save it.

Sign-in is not working. What now?

If no text arrives, wait for the resend timer and ask for another — carriers can be slow. If the app says the code didn’t work, send a fresh one: codes expire. “Too many tries” clears after a few minutes. “Sign-in is not responding” is ours, not yours: nothing was sent and nothing changed. If none of it works, write to us and say what the app said. Everything you have ranked stays safe on your phone either way.

How does deletion work?

In the app: Me → Settings → Data, analytics and deletion → Delete account. It is named, counted and typed out before anything happens, and then it deletes your ratings, photos, Top 10 and profile — from the phone and from the server. If anything fails part-way the app tells you so and treats nothing as deleted. You can export your whole journal as JSON from the same screen first, and keep the copy.

What can other people see?

Nothing, unless you choose it. One switch decides — your profile's Public/Private setting, in Settings → Privacy. Private hides your name, handle, Top 10 and every score you have made or will make; public shows all of them. There is no per-rating choice. Your notes, the prices you paid, your Want to Try list and your drafts are never shown to anyone on any setting — the app has a preview that shows you exactly what a friend would see, so you never have to take our word for it.

How do I get the app?

From the App Store, free: BRGR: Burger Ratings. It needs an iPhone running iOS 15 or later, and every burger it lists is in New York. There is no waiting list and nothing here collects your address. Testers who already have it from TestFlight have the same app.
